Motorsports is an evolving industry, especially for minorities. With the continued rise in popularity of NASCAR among African Americans, the realizations that that career opportunities exist not only in NASCAR, but in all forms of motorsports. One of our ways to show the public the type of jobs that exist in the motorsports industry was to create a Bio page that shows the public there are people of color and women that are working and thriving in this blossoming industry. We will periodically adds profile of motorsports professionals to our page. We are always looking for extraordinary stories about professionals in the industry. | Dion “Rocco” Williams is the spotlight this week on Racing For Change. Williams is a member of the Hendrick Motorsport #24 Dupont Chevy, driven by 4-time NASCAR Cup champion Jeff Gordon. Williams in no stranger to fast paced competition. Williams was a standout linebacker for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. This is William’s first year with Hendrick Motorsports and the No. 24 team, but he has been around racing a few years, serving as a tire carrier and jackman for teams like the Petty Enterprises and Chip Ganassi racing with Felix Sabates.
